WHAT'S POSSIBLE
‘Innovation in everyday life’ is the tagline of Innovator Square. Apart from declaring the Innovator of the Month award, we encourage projects and short internship with a subject or topic of innovation. And we do not just stop here, we take the innovation beyond books, papers and products. We apply the innovation in the society, to the villages and rural areas where electrification is still a dream for that population.
For example, there is a concept “Liter of Light” where a plastic bottle filled with bleach water refracts the light several times. Therefore, if half of the bottle is exposed in the sunlight, the other half which can be put inside the terrace slope of the mud houses across village and tribal areas, to get plentiful light, just like a glowing bulb inside the house during the daytime.

The other version of ‘Liter of Light’ concept is to place a small bulb at the top of the bottle which is again charged by solar power. Such version can be even used during the nighttime. Such small innovation can transform the life of thousands of people, raise their standard of living and create a scope for their children to read and write at night without suffocating in the toxic gas emitted by kerosine lamps.
