About MeitY GENESIS

With an aim to boost the startup ecosystem in Tier-II & Tier-III cities in the country, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has approved implementation of the ‘Gen-Next Support for Innovative Startups (GENESIS)’ Scheme with a budgetary outlay of Rs. 490 Crore for a duration of 5 years. The scheme envisages further scaling up and sustaining the startup ecosystem especially to discover, grow and nurture technology startups. The scheme aims to support approx. 1600 tech start-ups over the course of next 5 years

Events Organized under MeitY GENESIS Scheme

1. Innovating at the Intersection: Engineering Breakthroughs in Healthcare and Technology

Held on March 27, 2025, this event focused on synergizing engineering and medicine to build next-generation healthcare solutions. The session explored how interdisciplinary innovations - such as AI, IoT, robotics, and biomedical engineering - are transforming diagnostics, treatment, and patient monitoring. Featuring Dr. Pankaj Parashar, Founder of Cutting Edge Medical Devices Pvt. Ltd., the session showcased real-world use cases including wearable health monitors and robotic surgeries. With 35 participants in attendance, the event successfully promoted cross-disciplinary collaboration, encouraged innovative thinking at the health-tech interface, and fostered strong industry-academia linkages.

2. mRNA Vaccine – An Overview

Conducted on April 16, 2025, this insightful session provided a deep dive into the science and innovation behind mRNA vaccines, with a particular focus on their real-world applications during the COVID-19 pandemic. The event, attended by 30 participants, featured Dr. Thiru Angappan, Vice President – Operations & Manufacturing at PopVax Pvt. Ltd. Discussions covered fundamental concepts of mRNA technology, rapid vaccine development processes, safety considerations, and future applications in infectious diseases and cancer treatment. The session enhanced scientific literacy, inspired interest in vaccine research, and emphasized the transformative potential of mRNA-based immunization.
